Camp Harmony is an eight week summer camp. All of our programming, scheduling and transportation is all based on campers attending the entire 8 weeks (meaning things like Color War and Parents' Day only happen once every summer). However, due to popular demand we do now offer six and seven week tuition options (we do ask you to "declare" your weeks by June 1st to allow us to make the appropriate accomodations). Camp runs for the entire eight weeks, with the exception of the day either immediately proceeding or following July 4th. For Summer 2014, Camp begins on Monday, June 30th, 2014 and runs through Friday, August 22nd, 2014. For more information on tuition and registration, click here.
Camp Harmony offers incredible options for 2-13 year olds (with our C.I.T. program for 14-15 year old former campers). Groups are organized, in general, by school grade. In some cases, groups may have children of two school grades.
Each group has one Group Leader (our version of a head counselor) who is at least 21 years of age and is an Educational professional. Groups also have at least two college age assistants (18 years of age or older), with larger and/or younger groups possibly having more. Camp Harmony does not employ counselors under 18 years old except for our Junior Counselors who have come through our C.I.T. program and who are used as extra staff in groups and/or specialty areas.
We sometimes combine our I's & II's of the Pioneers, Willowbrooks, Rangers or Shangri-Las if group numbers are uneven. For example, if there are 22 Shangri-La I's and 8 Shangri-La II's, we will combine them to form two groups of 15 girls each. Similarly, multiple groups of the same age will be divided by other names; for example, Willowbrook I Hearts and Willowbrook I Stars or Ranger I Hawks and Ranger I Eagles.
One of things we pride ourselves on most are our group ratios. In all of our groups, we maintain at least a 4:1 ratio between staff and campers. In our younger groups, that ratio is 3:1. But because all of our Specialty Areas are run by their own staff, at many activities ratios can drop as low a 2:1!
